Where It All Began

Our story all began when Bob Nettles returned from serving in the Vietnam War and began to work for Friedman’s Jewelers in Augusta, Georgia. After quickly rising through the ranks, Bob was asked to manage a new location in the Ponce De Leon Mall. So Bob and his wife Diane moved to St. Augustine and opened up Friedman’s Jewelers in 1980, serving as the store manager. Nearly a year and a half later Bob and Diane decided to buy an old souvenir shop off St. George St. This small shop sold everything from sharks teeth to small silver jewelry and coins. The store grew and in 1983, with two small boys, Bob and Diane decided to open up their own full service jewelry store, Nettles Fine Jewelry.

Our Story Continues

In 2010 Bob’s youngest son Clay relocated and stepped in to take over the growing family business. Over the last 31 years Nettles Fine Jewelry has undergone numerous facelifts and expansions. In 2013 we tripled our size and completely redesigned our 3,600 sq. showroom to better serve the St. Augustine area.
